Building a support portal and setting up the news

I have been a bit silent due to work as the new Atlassian Platform Owner at Sinch, which is very rewarding yet time-consuming initially. I have also learned quite a bit about JSM and especially how to take advantage of the apps Refined and ProForma (Forms in Cloud). Aligning colors to make sense of things

As much as I love Invision Community as a platform, it does have a few things that I feel need a bit of structure. Dark Mode for Atlasstic is here

Last night I added a little toggle feature to switch to Dark Mode on Atlasstic.com. It is not perfect, but it works on desktop so far and I am working on the Mobile adaptation and adjusting the styles. This weekend, I have created new social media accounts for Atlasstic. I am doing this for several reasons, but the primary reason is that I want to separate Atlasstic from myself and make it super focused on Atlassian content. While I will focus on Twitter and YouTube primarily next year, I also created a Facebook and LinkedIn account as well. Just to be prepared for the future. Taking a small break to refocus

IPS Community Suite 4.7.4 update

A new update has been release for IPS Community Suite and in this release we got three new features and a bunch of bug fixes. This release also had a change in the minimum requirement for PHP, which is now PHP 8.0. Upgrading my Atlassian products for public access.

After considering my options for a while, I decided to take the leap and upgrade my Atlassian licenses. I now have a Confluence standard license and a Jira Software premium license. It is not cheap, even with a single user, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I am still investigating my options when it comes to the other products. One of the key features on Atlasstic.com are the Playbooks. The idea behind these are to make sort of digital guidebooks for everything you can imagine doing in the Atlassian products, and the Atlassian apps eventually. Making progress on design, now to plan databases...

With the design making progress, it is time to start planning the databases. There are six databases, but I think Videos and Articles are good enough for now, so I will focus on People, Companies and Products. Setting up Atlassian products for Atlasstic.com

If you are going to make a community revolving the Atlassian products, then of course you will have to use the products as well. So today I have set up a suite of them that I will use for the website. I will configure them more later when I have more time after I have built the website, but for now they are registered and setup at least. Defining tonality and breaking out from the standard design

The first creative addition has been added to the website, and with it comes a few decision to be made. Playing with hero designs

At the moment, I am playing around with designs for different content blocks I will build, like the hero banners. I am trying out a soft gray base with a pink to orange gradient that is rather common right now. IPS, the company behind Invision Community that we use for this community, just announced an update to the Calendar app. The app will be renamed to Events, which is perfect (and saves me time from renaming all language bits) and it will add new templates as well as integrate with several streaming services. Databases are in place (sort of), so now I have to work on structure

Creating new templates from scratch is slower, but more satisfying

As I already have the basic templates I want for Atlasstic, I am not going to use them. The reason for that is that the old templates are built in a more exploratory way with a lot of custom CSS. I want to build this again now using standard CSS classes, which is both a challenge and a bit frustrating. The end result will be worth it though, I think.
