Jimi Wikman
For the past decade or so, Scrum and other Agile frameworks have reigned supreme in the world's organizations and all focus has been on the teams. If I look around, we still struggle with knowing what to do in the teams and we have added interruptions on a daily basis as a way to combat the old ways... where we did not know what to do and were not involved in the requirement processes as much as we wanted. As a result, we now have a big gap in most organizations between the teams, which are not self-isolated, and the rest of the organization. This is one of the causes for bad behavior such as micromanagement and we have seen the rise of things like SAFe to bring back the old ways of managing projects. I wonder if it could be that because we focus so much on the teams and making teams our single most important focus, that we lose the big picture? Could this singular focus be hurting organizations from being Agile (as in the mindset, not Scrum)?
