    There is a hard cap of 500 subtasks for issues. It is unknown why this cap exists, as there are no technical reasons for it in a properly designed enterprise solution. While you will probably never hit that cap in a normal scenario, the fact remain that Atlassian is putting restrictions on their services instead of building proper solutions using web technologies that allow any number of subtasks to be added without causing strain on server resources or reducing load speed.
